The Leon and Thea Koerner Foundation is committed to protecting the privacy of the personal information of its staff, Governors, Honorary Governors, and applicants. The Foundation values the trust of those with whom it deals, and recognizes that maintaining this trust requires that the Foundation be transparent and accountable in how it treats the information provided by applicants in their applications for funding from the Foundation. This information is used and disclosed in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act or other applicable provincial or federal legislation.

The Privacy Officer for The Leon and Thea Koerner Foundation is the Executive Director.

PRIVACY POLICY RELATED TO THE APPLICANTS IN THE CULTURAL AND CREATIVE ARTS AND SOCIAL SERVICES

The information provided by an applicant on the application form of The Leon and Thea Koerner Foundation is used during the deliberations of the Projects Committee. It is expected that members of any Committee or the Board of Governors will retain the copies of the applications until the adjournment of the Board of Governors meeting, typically held in May and November of any given year, when the final decision is made on the applications. Following the Board of Governors meeting, it is expected that all copies of the applications will be given to the Executive Director for disposal. The information on successful applicants is used and disclosed in accordance with applicable provincial and federal legislation.

Successful applications are held by the Foundation in perpetuity. Unsuccessful applications are held by the Foundation for a period of twelve months and then destroyed.

The information provided by an applicant on the application form of The Leon and Thea Koerner Award in the Fine and Performing Arts is used during the deliberations of the Projects Committee. It is expected that members of any Committee or the Board of Governors will retain the copies of the applications until the adjournment of the Board of Governors meeting, typically held in May and November of any given year, when the final decision is made on the applications. Following the Board of Governors meeting, it is expected that all copies of the applications will be given to the Executive Director for disposal. The information on successful applicants is used and disclosed in accordance with applicable provincial and federal legislation.
